The view from Tyholttårnet

It's always nice to look at the city from above. Especially when the city is as beautiful as Trondheim. On one of the Saturdays I was having a really nice afternoon at the rotating restaurant placed 74 meters above the ground on the tower, which is 124 meters high. Sitting there with friends and watching the snow storm was an amazing experience. When the storm slowed down it was possible to see the whole city and the fjord. Beautiful!

Julelunsj in Stavne

The last two weeks I was working in the kitchen in Stavne. We were preparing food for the julelunsj. We made a lot of different dishes, typical Norwegian snacks and desserts. We were serving the lunch for two days for over 70 people each day. The food was delicious and preparing it was just fun!

Tiny treats

I am known from being and nature-eco-freak. Apparently there is not only me crazy about eating clean. Thanks to Åse from Stavne I was able to prepare these utterly delicious treats. You are probably not expecting that this tiny cute sweet is actually a healthy version of snickers! I made them with cashew nuts, maple syrup, dates, peanuts, dark chocolate and other super great ingredients. I have tried them and I know by now that one is not enough... yummy!

Juleverksted at Brygga

At the end of November there was a Christmas Workshop at Brygga. During the first day we baked cookies, caramels and gingerbreads. The second day was more about preparing gifts, Christmas cards and all things related that can be hand crafted. We had a lot of fun! Check the photos below so you all know what I'm writing about.

I fuc*ing love Norway - book launch

Last Tuesday I had the opportunity to join The Social Guidebook to Norway book launch. I knew the facebook site I fucking love Norway, but I didn't know there was a whole book containing all the drawings and comments printed and published. Apparently it happened and the whole event took place in Trondheim and in Oslo. It was an incredibly nice. Both Julien and Nicholas are so friendly and welcoming. They introduced themselves to each and every person that came on the event and yes, we had a little chat and yes, it was very very nice. I also got their autographs on my copy of the book! Below you have some photos from the book launch. The book can be ordered from this site. I really recommend it for all people coming to Norway and experiencing all weird and funny Norwegian behaviour. It is so true. Enjoy!

The full moon

I have a silly habit. I carry my camera with me all the time and wherever I go. I have to admit that I need it more than anything else I have in my bag. Well... silly habits are profitable.

And this was supposed to be a heart... almost.

The seaside

Here is another portion of my happy work! I took the photos near Pirbadet last week and made this little animation.

Cats and dogs

Yes I love dogs. Of course I prefer cats as I am a true cat-lady but dogs are good enough to cuddle. Fortunately sometimes people come with their animals to Brygga and luckily I can hug them as much as I want. These two were adorable.

The sunrise this morning made me stop on my way to Stavne to take dozens of photos.

The exhibition

I had the pleasure to go on an exhibition opening of Bjørg Thorhallsdottir's graphics at Galleri SG. The main theme of this exhibition was "Everything is possible". It was fantastic and her works are incredibly interesting, uplifting and heart-warming. This one below was my favourite.

Steinkjer visited Trondheim

My two friends from Steinkjer visited me during one of the last weekends of October. Both of them (Aleksandra from Poland and Josep from Spain) are doing their EVS project in Huze Ungdomssenter in Steinkjer. They planned to hitch-hike, as Steinkjer in not very far away from Trondheim. They managed to hitch-hike only 30 km and they had to take a train from there. Aleksandra and Josep stayed with me from Friday until Sunday evening. We had a lot of fun during the weekend! We decided not to use public transportation as the bus tickets are very expensive so we were walking around Trondheim all the time. We walked almost everywhere mainly because the weather allowed us to do so. Amazingly it was warm and it didn't rain at all! We also tried to party a little bit but we were too late. The parties here end around 2:30 am. This is definitely too early! Oh well... Next time we will set off earlier... maybe at 6:00 pm instead of around 2:00 am... ;)

It's great to be an EVS volunteer!
