Trondheim has a ski jumping hill named Granåsen since 1940 and skicenter frequently hosts World Cup and Continental Cup competitions. This year World Cup was at 12 March and I had the chance to watch them literally whole day, outside at freezing wheather but its totally worth it!

First snow here
This winter is not the coldest one for Norway. Infact I need to admit its quite good compared to my expectations. But the only thing is I hoped more snow. So here it is the expected snow, and how it looks like from home :)

Hello Norway
Finally I am here in Norway after a long journey :) I am Serap and from Turkey. Today I arrived Trondheim and will be the next volunteer in Stavne for the next 7 months. Norway didn't suprise me in the first impression, with snow every where and cold weather. But lucky me I have my lovely mentors were waiting for me at the airport. Now I am so excited and can't wait for the new adventures. :)

Only good memories
It's funny how quick the time passes. It's already been 5 months since I arrived to Trondheim and now my journey as a volunteer at Stavne is coming to an end. I have to admit it was a fantastic journey and an amazing adventure here in Norway. To all the people I met and worked with I would like to say: Thank you! It was a pleasure to be here and to have a chance to work with you. I have thousands of good memories! Now I need to make some space on this blog for the new volunteers. They will have their own stories and experiences to write and to share.
I'll be hanging around :)

The view from Tyholttårnet
It's always nice to look at the city from above. Especially when the city is as beautiful as Trondheim. On one of the Saturdays I was having a really nice afternoon at the rotating restaurant placed 74 meters above the ground on the tower, which is 124 meters high. Sitting there with friends and watching the snow storm was an amazing experience. When the storm slowed down it was possible to see the whole city and the fjord. Beautiful!

Julelunsj in Stavne
The last two weeks I was working in the kitchen in Stavne. We were preparing food for the julelunsj. We made a lot of different dishes, typical Norwegian snacks and desserts. We were serving the lunch for two days for over 70 people each day. The food was delicious and preparing it was just fun!
