At the end of November there was a Christmas Workshop at Brygga. During the first day we baked cookies, caramels and gingerbreads. The second day was more about preparing gifts, Christmas cards and all things related that can be hand crafted. We had a lot of fun! Check the photos below so you all know what I'm writing about.

Cats and dogs
Yes I love dogs. Of course I prefer cats as I am a true cat-lady but dogs are good enough to cuddle. Fortunately sometimes people come with their animals to Brygga and luckily I can hug them as much as I want. These two were adorable.

Personal project
Personal project is one of the things a volunteer has to do during the stay. I have already started my own and as I love knitting, especially during autumn and winter, I thought it would be a great idea to do something good for the others. My main idea was to knit scarves for the homeless people. Such scarves are quick and very easy to do and I hope that people from Brygga and Stavne can contribute! I also have plans to teach knitting so if anyone is interested - just contact me! Here is the poster I made for Brygga.
I have another idea for a personal project but I won't say more about it now. Maybe later when I'm sure that it's possible :).

Halloween at Brygga
Yesterday we had a lot of fun at Brygga! When I arrived the whole place was decorated with scary pumpkins, disgusting spiders hanging from huge spider webs, evil mandarins and candles. Spooooky. I don't celebrate Halloween but I must admit the place was looking awesome! We also baked a carrot and pumpkin cake and we decorated it with licorice and chocolate spiders. It was delicious, well... too delicious because I ate three pieces.. three and a half, maybe :).

Trip to Meråker
On one of past Saturdays I had a chance to go on a horse riding trip to Meråker together with some people from Brygga. It was my first time to go on such adventure and of course I didn't expect that I will be riding an Icelandic horse. It was a really great experience as the horses go one after another without the need to say any commands. This was quite convenient for me as I am not really experienced in horse riding. We rode through hills and bushes enjoying the beautiful views of a harsh Scandinavian nature. We even had a cup of coffee prepared over a campfire while resting next to a small lake.
I feel really good being a volunteer and that I have the opportunity to be a part of such amazing events.
Here are some photos :)

Sjokoladekake
It is really great to be a volunteer and to love baking. I am really happy about it, especially when I have the opportunity to bake for all those people at Brygga. I am even more happy if they like the cake I managed to bake. And I think chocolate makes everybody happy.
This one below I baked some time ago and each time I look at this photo, I wish that one of those plates was still on my table. It was insanely delicious!
I can of course share the recipe, just let me know!
